Open Chalk Streams: Carter's Meadow
About the event
A short guided walk to view and hear about chalk stream restoration works and engineered habitat improvements.
This event is part of Open Chalk Streams, a project within the Watercress and Winterbournes Landscape Partnership Scheme. We're protecting, enhancing, and celebrating the Rivers Test and Itchen headwaters.
Booking is essential for this event - we cannot admit anyone who has not booked a ticket in advance. Numbers are limited to ensure everyone's safety, so if you can no longer come please contact us as soon as possible on winterbournes@hiwwt.org.uk

Age range: 12+ (under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
Walking distance: 50m
Accessibility: The site is suitable for all, as this is on smooth level surfaced roads and pavements. Access from the car parking involves a sloping road to the main pavement.
Public transport: Andover bus number 11. Bus stop: Carter's Meadow.
What to bring:
- No special footwear required.
- Binoculars may be useful for spotting wildlife.
