Space for nature
The Greening Campaign, is a multi-pillared programme empowering communities to address and adapt to climate change locally. Together, we are championing green initiatives throughout Hampshire, fostering wilder spaces and nurturing biodiversity to combat the impacts of climate change. At Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust we are responsible for the 'Space for Nature' pillar.
Our work involves helping communities to assess and map their local area, understand existing habitats, and develop plans to establish or improve natural spaces where wildlife can thrive — whether in school playgrounds, disused areas, verges, or window boxes, we believe every community has the potential to actively support and create a wilder future.
Communities joining the Space for Nature pillar also have the option to become a Team Wilder group, receiving ongoing support from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust beyond the Greening Campaign Programme.
