Event details
About the event
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust hope to return beavers to the Isle of Wight. This project is a key part of the Trust’s Wilder Wight vision and one that we hope can support transformative change in the face of a climate and ecological emergency.
Nicola Wheeler, our Beaver Recovery Project Officer, will be giving an overview of the Trust’s aspirations for a wild beaver release on the Isle of Wight. She will cover beaver history and ecology, the benefits that beavers can bring, and the results of the feasibility study carried out on the Island.
Nicola will bring us up to date on the current status of the project, and advise us on what the next steps will be.
