In January 2024, Stubbington Green Runners organised their annual Stubbington 10K Race. Each year the group donate proceeds to selected charities. This year, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust were chosen as one of the beneficiaries.

Kevin Ashman, Chairman of Stubbington Green Runners, shared his thoughts on the event: “The success of the race is not only due to its popularity amongst the running community as the first event of the new year, but also the support given by 150+ members of Stubbington Green Runners who marshal the race to ensure the safety of everybody involved and that the disruption to local residents is minimised.”

With a total of £4,200 raised for the Trust, the race’s success is a testament not only to the dedication of the club’s members, but also to the extraordinary fundraising efforts of everyone involved. This generous donation will significantly aid our mission to create a Wilder Hampshire & Isle of Wight by 2030. From conserving our chalk streams to restoring the Solent’s seagrass, our supporters’ efforts are crucial in helping nature thrive across our two counties.

A heartfelt thank you to all the runners who participated and contributed. Your efforts are making a real difference.
