Guided Coastal Birdwatching Walk, Yarmouth (Booking Essential)
Event details
About the event
The estuary is made up of important habitats such as saltmarsh and mudflats which attracts many different species of overwintering migratory ducks, geese and wading birds. Some of the species we hope to see include dark-bellied brent geese, wigeon, teal, curlew, oystercatcher, redshank, black-tailed godwit and lapwing. If we are lucky, there may also be a chance to spot a kingfisher or spoonbill. Binoculars are recommended but Charlotte will have a telescope available which everyone is welcome to use.
Duration: The walk is around a mile long in total and will last about 2 hours at a leisurely pace with regular watching stops.
Accessibility: Whilst we will be following the footpath, some of it is uneven in places. Winter weather can also mean damp or muddy conditions so sensible footwear is required.
Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome to join us, but they must be kept on a short lead at all times.
Clothing: Please wear sturdy/sensible shoes and dress appropriately for the weather (we advise warm layers and a waterproof coat!).
