About the event

The UK is home to an incredible diversity of dragonflies and damselflies, some of which can only be found in very specific habitats. Several species thrive along our rare and precious local chalk streams, while others can be found dancing across adjacent wetlands.

In this talk, Lauren Kennedy from the British Dragonfly Society will uncover the lives of these amazing animals. She'll share which species call chalk streams their home, and which are supported by wetlands at this time of year. Join us to learn about their fascinating lifecycles and behaviours.

The British Dragonfly Society works to conserve the habitats of dragonflies and damselflies across Britain. It carries out research into these fascinating species, and raises awareness about them through public outreach projects.

This event is part of Watercress and Winterbournes, a Landscape Partnership Scheme that is protecting, enhancing, and celebrating seven local chalk streams.
