About the event

Join us for a riverside guided walk along the Eastern Yar to learn more about the rivers features, natural flood management works, why this river is an important habitat for local wildlife and how this river could support beavers.

You'll be able to find out more about our ambitions to release beavers on the Isle of Wight, to bring a multitude of benefits to our Island, from boosting biodiversity to delivering ecosystem services including reducing flash flooding and improving water quality.

There will be some steep paths and some of the terrain is hilly. Please wear sturdy shoes (walking boots or similar) or wellies.

This event is part of the Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival and will be led by Nicola Wheeler, the Trust's Beaver Recovery Project Officer, and Emma Hunt, Isle of Wight Reserves Officer.
