The Flora Group exists to encourage people to take an interest in wild plants and to expand their knowledge; it is concerned not only with flowering plants and ferns, but also lichens, mosses and liverworts.
Objectives of Hampshire Flora Group

To promote the conservation of flora in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

To establish and monitor the status of flora in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

To foster an interest in the conservation of flora in Hampshire and to develop the skills of those interested in plants
Hampshire Flora Group is coordinated by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. We work with the Botanical Society of the British Isles and their local forum at Hants Plants, we also work closely with Plantlife and Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre.
How to Join
Everyone with an interest in plants is very welcome to join the Flora Group and get involved in surveys, events and meet other flora enthusiasts. The Group is keen to welcome people of all abilities and coming along to an event is a great way to get started.
If you are already a member you just need to e-mail membership@hiwwt.org.uk with your name and membership number to let us know you would like to join.
If you are not a member of the Trust, please join! Not only will you be able to join Hampshire Flora Group, but you will also receive the benefits of being a member of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust such as the Trust magazine and reserve guide. Once you have become a member, follow the steps above to join HFG.

Hampshire Flora Group is run by a volunteer committee of dedicated individuals with extensive ecological expertise and knowledge.
The group holds walks, talks and events throughout the year and produces a newsletter, which is distributed to members. Hampshire Flora Group promotes recording and encourages their members to send in records of the species they see in and around Hampshire and the Island.
