Wilder Campaign Leader

Wilder Campaign Leader

What can I do as a Campaign Leader?

Since relaunching our Campaign Leader Programme in summer 2024, our Campaign Leaders have been busy advocating for nature. With the support of our policy team, our Campaign Leaders attended the March for Clean Water – to call on the Government to clean up our rivers, lakes and seas. Our Campaign Leaders have also been working in their local communities, meeting with their MPs to urge action on the Government’s nature recovery targets.

These are just a few examples of activities you can be involved with as a Campaign Leader. Campaigning can be what you make of it - meeting with MPs and councillors, letter-writing, writing to the editor of a local newspaper, sharing your experience on the Trust’s blog. There's lots of opportunities to get involved with, and we can provide advice and training on some of these campaigning methods to get you started. Whether you’re looking to boost your CV or fill some free time – this is the role for you!

Location

Wherever you are based; your community

Our Campaign Leader Programme is designed to give you the skills and confidence to push for change to protect the natural world. We will provide advice and training through our dedicated platform so you can develop the most effective techniques and tools to start your own campaign. By growing your voice and empowering people with the skills they need to campaign, we hope to get local councils and MPs to realise the urgency of the nature and climate crises. It isn’t too late to act, and by harnessing the passion of so many people who want things to change, we can still make a better future for people and nature.

We understand that the climate and nature emergency can sometimes feel overwhelming, and it can be hard to know what we can do the make a real difference. But urgent action is needed to protect the future on our planet. Through our Team Wilder project we know how many passionate people in our two counties are trying to find a way to make their voice heard, so we want to help you to change our politics, policies and society at large.

Becoming a Campaign Leader is a great way to build and showcase your public affairs skills, while demonstrating your commitment to improving our natural environment.

The programme will take just a couple of hours of your time each week, with flexibility to fit around your schedule.
