We are looking for Livestock Looker Volunteers to help keep an eye on the health and welfare of our 23 Grazing Cattle, using an App to track the GPS location of cattle wearing collars.

Times, days and frequency we'd like you to be available: Weekly opportunities available, any days required

Purpose of Role: To keep an eye on the health and welfare of our 23 Grazing Cattle. Using an App to track the GPS location of cattle wearing collars.

Tasks involved in this role:

  • Locate cattle using a GPS collar app, carry out a quick visual assessment of the wellbeing of the cattle.
  • Report any problems, such as a limping animal, hole in fence, to Trust staff.
  • Use of an online blog to report sitings to staff.

Skills and abilities needed or training provided:

  • Full training Provided, must have access to a mobile phone and be able to use an online blog to document sightings. Mobile phone also required to be able to track cattle with a GPS collar using an App.

Specific considerations:

  • Longmoor is a large site, so good walking ability is needed.
