Stoke Park Farm, Located near Bishopstoke, faced the threat if major housing development, but thanks to dedicated conservation efforts, it's poised for a remarkable revival. While the full vision is still unfolding, they are excited to share plans for a diverse array of habitats, including a Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space (SANG), and a ground breaking Great Crested Newt Project.
The talk will provide a brief history of the site and its developments, with a primary focus on the species monitoring activities conducted by passionate local volunteers working with Eastleigh Borough Council. Discover the fascinating observations and natural gems uncovered so far and learn how these efforts will contribute to the long-term plans for the site.
Be prepared to be surprised and encouraged by the progress and future potential of Stoke Park Farm.
Steve is Lead Species Monitoring Volunteer at Stoke Park Farm, a Biological Sciences graduate and a wildlife enthusiast. Karen is a volunteer leading a butterfly and plant monitoring teams, and is also an Eastleigh Borough Councillor for Bishopstoke to have more involvement in this site to be the best it can be for nature and increasing biodiversity, which is their end goal.
