Wonderful Whales, Delightful Dolphins and a Pod of Porpoises
Event details
About the event
If on your trips to our coast you have been lucky enough to have spotted perhaps a dolphin in the water, but not sure, then do come and join Ellie Adams, Conservation Monitoring Officer from ORCA . Founded in 2001, ORCA is a marine conservation charity dedicated to the long term study and protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises and their habitats. ORCA works to identify and protect critical whale and dolphin habitats in our waters and beyond, which is all made possible using an army of highly trained citizen scientists! ORCA believes that everyone from all walks of life, can contribute to, shape and change our knowledge and insights around marine conservation - whether on land or at sea.
Ellie will be describing the features of the incredible whales, dolphins and porpoises we are so fortunate to see in the waters around the UK, including minke whales, orcas, bottlenose dolphins, harbour porpoises and more. In her talk she will go into more detail about the vitally important conservation work carried out by ORCA and the ways you can get involved yourself.
