Southern Nature Art exhibition raises over £700 for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust

Southern Nature Art has raised £770 for the Trust via an art exhibition that celebrates the beauty of the natural world.

Southern Nature Art, a non-profit Community Interest Company, organises an annual art exhibition celebrating the beauty of the natural world whilst raising money for wildlife charities. The company brings together a community of people who are passionate about protecting the nature that inspires their exquisite art pieces. For the second year running, we are so grateful that Southern Nature Art chose Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust as the beneficiaries of their fundraising efforts.

The Southern Nature Art Exhibition has now been running for 10 years, developing into the most significant wildlife art exhibition in the UK. Its popularity makes it an important fixture in the wildlife artist’s calendar. The event showcases the power of portraying nature through art. This event connects people to the natural world in a way that cannot be done with words and delivers the important message of conservation.

The event took place in the estate of Rookesbury Park, with artworks hung directly on the walls, creating a beautiful and immersive display. Southern Nature Art’s ‘Artist Studios’ also allowed visitors to meet the artists and watch demonstrations of art in progress. 2024’s exhibition featured 157 artists with over 400 artworks and 2,030 visitors across the 4-day exhibition. The team hopes that the 2025 exhibition will be even bigger, continuing to draw people in to join their community of wildlife enthusiasts.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust had an information stand at the exhibition for people to learn more about the Trust and our mission for a wilder Hampshire & Isle of Wight by 2030.

Luke Maundrell, Fundraising Development Manager, attended the event: “It was a pleasure to attend the opening night of the Southern Nature Art exhibition and to meet many artists and guests who are so passionate about our natural world. It was very encouraging to have many people stop and want to learn more about the work of the Trust, and even how they might get involved, all whilst they enjoyed the impressive art on display at the same time!”.

An amazing £770.60 was raised at the 2024 exhibition, from ticket sales and donations collected. Thank you so much to the team at Southern Nature Art for continuing to support the Trust’s work and raise awareness on the importance of protecting wildlife.
