About the event

Keith Betton co-ordinates all of the Peregrine monitoring in Hampshire with up to 25 pairs on territory each year. But prior to 1993 they had never nesting in Hampshire, and for much of the previous 50 years they had been rare across most of lowland England with fewer than 400 pairs in the UK in the mind 1960s. Now they live alongside us, and a pair has settled at Romsey Abbey. With Keith's input, a nesting box and live camera have been installed, so we hope that the birds are successful this summer. Keith will outline this project, but also explain how Peregrines have bounced back from a very low ebb.
