Inspiring Marine Champion for Solent Seascape Project
Locations all over Hampshire and Isle of Wight
Times, days and frequency we'd like you to be available: No set times or days or set time commitment, you can sign up to events as and when you want.
Purpose of role:
- As part of the Solent Seascape Project, this role involves using a range of methods to raise awareness and appreciation of the Solent’s marine habitats and its wildlife, particularly regarding Saltmarsh, Seagrass, oyster beds and seabird habitat.
Tasks involved in this role:
- Reaching out to local communities through events, shows and social media, gathering fascinating facts and inspiring stories to share with others. Involves manning stalls at events, helping hold workshops or talks and generally championing our key messages to individuals and communities of the Solent to encourage positive behavioural change towards these habitats and elevated pressure.
Skills and abilities needed:
- No required skills apart from loving the Solent and being able to talk about that to people to inspire them.
Specific considerations:
- This role usually entails periods of time standing or sitting, indoors and outdoors and engaging with small or large groups of people.
