Volunteer Line Manager: Assistant Grazing Officer
Tasks Involved:

To carry out a quick visual assessment of the wellbeing of the cattle and ponies.

To carry out a quick visual check of fences and gates used to contain livestock.

To report any problems, such as a limping animal, new calf been born, hole in the fence, or some loose wire, to Trust staff by phone, text or email. You will not be required to take any practical action yourself unless trained to do so.

Undertake such other appropriate assistance in relation to the role of Volunteer as may be reasonably requested by the HIWWT manager.

Work in compliance with the Trust’s Health and Safety policy at all times, taking appropriate action and reporting back on potential hazards, accidents and other issues, such as evacuation and emergency procedures.
Skills and Abilities Needed:

Full training Provided, must have access to a mobile phone and be able to use an online blog to document sightings.
Specific Considerations:
-
There are both Cattle and Ponies on this site, who on occasion are quite difficult to find. Quite a bit of walking may be required to find them.
