Wilder Community Leader
Do you currently belong to a community group that you think could be doing more for nature? Or would you like to set up a group in your local area, but don't know where to start? As a Wilder Community Leader, the Trust will support and guide you through your wilder journey. This is not an official Trust volunteer role; this is something that you will lead on and the Trust will support where we can.

Purpose of role
As a Wilder Community Leader, you will be the key changemaker within an existing community group or set up your own group to make space for nature. You will be responsible for your own community group and its actions. As such, you will not be an official volunteer of the Trust.
The Wildlife Trust is here to guide and support Community Leaders by providing specific training on community organising, behaviour change, and urban ecology. As a Wilder Leader, you will get access to monthly support group meetings to share your progress and to ask other people for advice.
The Wilder Community Leaders are all part of Team Wilder, an initiative that was set up by the Wildlife Trust, but that which we want people to adopt and adapt its philosophy across the county. Click here to find out more about Team Wilder.
Tasks involved in this role
This role will be shaped by you and depends on what skills and passions you bring to the table. As you will be responsible for your own group, what you get out of this role is what you put in. You should start group projects and events that you think will specifically engage people in your area. Download role outline for your records.
